What is unique about Tasmanian animals and how can we protect them?

This is a full day program. The day begins in the Molesworth Environment Centre

where we:

• use taxidermied Tasmanian native animals to discover what makes our animals so unique in the world.
• discuss the difference between native and introduced animals.
• using our animals, discuss the difference between placental, monotreme and marsupial mammals.
• discuss why we still have a strong population of native animals in Tasmania.
• discuss what threatens our Tasmanian native animals.

After our discussion in the MEC we go on a bushwalk to investigate evidence of Tasmanian animals in the Molesworth valley using pooflip charts.
