A very busy next two weeks with preparation for our final assembly. A reminder this year it begins at 1:00 pm (the oval will be open form 12:45 pm) to finish at the end of the day so children will be able to go home with their parents if they are able to. We are planning outside again this year (weather permitting) so remember your chair or picnic blanket to enjoy the event. We will make the call on the day and move to the hall if outside is not suitable, if this happens we will send out a Schoolzine note to all families. If you have any questions please contact the office and they are very happy to help.
We are currently in the process of finalising the signing of contracts for before and after school care on site at school to begin at the start of next year. We will send out more details as soon as we have them.
Children are starting to chat about 2024 and who they might be with and who might be their teacher. We have organised a moving up day on Tuesday 19th December where all students will get to meet their classmates and teacher for next year. For the next couple of weeks we are focusing on enjoying the end of 2023 and all the learning taking place. If you have any questions about next year please let me know and I am happy to have a conversation.
I hope all families are enjoying the warmer weather and are not too busy as this crazy time of year takes place. Looking forward to seeing everyone who can make it at our end of year celebration and award assembly.

3/4'S DOMAIN ATHLETICS EXCURSION
Ready, set, go! Both 3/4 classes have put their athletics skills to the test at the Domain Athletics Centre, in preparation for our Kinder to Grade 6 athletics carnival coming up on Wednesday 13th December 11:00 am-12.30 pm. For many of our students, it was the first time they had been at the Athletics Centre. For those that have been before, it was the quietest the centre has ever been as we were the only school there!
We had a short tour and talked about different areas, events were practised in them and of course, we had a go! We threw our vortex and chickens where athletes throw vortex’s and javelins and we practised moving on the track.
While 3/4MB were on their excursion, there was a young athlete practising on the track. When it was our turn on the track she introduced herself as none other than the fasted female sprinter in the 100m and 200m in Tasmania – Chelsea Scolyer!! How lucky we were to be there at the same time as Chelsea. She had just travelled down from the North-West of Tasmania to train for the upcoming championships in Perth, Western Australia. Chelsea said her fasted time for the 100m is 11.71 and she is hoping to go even faster - woah. Chelsea gave our students some important tips around training, running and an insight to how she fuels her body for training and competition. We will keep an eye out to see how she goes at her competition. If you want to read more about Chelsea’s statistics visit this website: https://worldathletics.org/athletes/australia/chelsea-scolyer-14862111
Thank you to Mrs Ferris, Mr Jelkic, Mr Saunders and Mrs Barber for coming along and supporting our students on our excursions.

SCHOOL ASSOCIATION BUNNINGS BBQ - THANK YOU!
The Molesworth Primary School Association held a fundraising BBQ at Bunnings Warehouse on Sunday the 26th November. A massive thank you to the following people for organising the event and for giving up their time on the day. Ms Burns, Mrs Hemsley, Mrs Cowley, Ms Lawrence, Mrs Sutton, Mrs Young, Ms Priestly and Mr Warman. It was a very successful day!!!
SPSSA CHAMPIONS SWIMMING CARNIVAL
Molesworth have so many amazing swimmers and we get to call 12 of our students swimming Champions for 2023!
Congratulations to Palasa, Addison, Joseph, Ashley, Charlotte, Aiden, Seth, Toby, Darcy, Adam, Nick and Hugh for representing our school at the SPSSA Champions Swimming Carnival that was held on Tuesday 28th November at the Doone Kennedy Aquatic Centre.
An incredible achievement to reach a champions carnival and they all competed outstandingly. One of my favourite races to watch at carnivals are the relay races, where teams have to work together to complete the race. This year Molesworth made 4 relay race events, these events are tough and two of our teams came away with ribbons! And of course I also enjoy watching individual races as students get to challenge themselves against other amazing swimmers. Many of our students made finals in their heats with some making multiple finals!
I would like to thank all our parents who transported our team to make sure our kids were there for their events. Thank you Mr Jelkic, Mr and Mrs Roberts, Mr Jordan, Mrs Duncombe and Mr Turner, Mrs Williams, Ms Youd, Mr and Mrs Cross, Ms Burns and Mr Stokman.
