A very busy and productive start to Term 2. Thanks to all the families who sold chocolates for the School Association fundraiser, every sale supports our school. Can all money please be returned to school no later than Monday 8th May,
Today was our first wet day for the Term but I’m sure not the last, as the weather cools we are seeing more and more school hoodies on our students. All uniform pieces are available for sale through the School Office if you require any with Eftpos facilities now available.
A very big thank you to the parents who were able to come to our first MEC working bee yesterday. All the preparation for the student groups is fantastic.
May 18th – mark this day in your diary. This will be our first open morning for this year. All families are very welcome to come to school and work with their children as we celebrate Outdoor Classroom Day. We will have our classes out and about participating in lots of amazing activities between 9:00 am and 10:30 am. Everyone is welcome. We are in the process of organising a coffee van for the session.
Thank you to the Molesworth Primary School Assocation for their wonderful donation of gumboots for our Kinder children. They were well and truly tried and tested on their first day back last week and as you can see they got the big thumbs up!
The children have enjoyed their visits with Fire Education Officer Alison this week. The Kinders loved dressing up and trying out what they'd learnt on the office staff making smiles all round. If you haven't already, make sure you chat to your children about what they have learnt this week.
MOLESWORTH ENVIRONMENT CENTRE NEWS
On Tuesday the 2nd of May we had a working bee to begin some land restoration projects. Students in Grades 5 and 6 had identified some areas of environmental concern around our school and want to address these issues by removing invasive weeds and planting native trees and plants.
A huge thank you to Bryony, Allan, Lisa, Liz and Lucien, TJ and Forest for coming and helping get the project started.
The area by the footbridge has been cleared of weeds (and a surprise wasp nest) and a section of bushland has been largely cleared of holly weed so that students can now resume the project in preparation for National Tree Planting Day.
Stay tuned for upcoming land clearing and planting events.
Got cabin fever? Why not take the children outside for a play? Being active is important when children are young.
Throwing and catching helps to build coordination. It also helps to develop muscles that children need for life.
