NEARLY THE END OF TERM ALREADY!
This week is Harmony week and many classes have been discussing what Harmony is and how we treat one another. The Kinder class today made a Harmony tree that they are all a part of and during lunch they were talking to me about what it means. We are very lucky at Molesworth how inclusive and supportive our students are of one another.
Today I joined in the Grade 1/2 MEC excursion and walked to Devil’s Den with them. We are so lucky to have this amazing program as part of our school and Lani and Trish are brilliant with the way they engage our students and every learner that visits the centre. In our Newsletters you will start to see a section from the MEC as we are looking at opportunities to engage our community in support of the school and the land that we use. Lani has some great plans to improve and look after our local environment.
This week we finalised our NAPLAN testing. Congratulations to all our Grade 3 and Grade 5 students for their continued commitment to their learning.
Next week we have 48 students off to the Domain for the Interschool Athletics Carnival. For all students who are part of the team notes have been sent home. Good luck to all participants, I know they will do their very best.
This week we welcome Mrs Kathryn Gilbert in Kinder as Kylee enjoys a well earned long service leave break until the end of term. Next term Mrs Gilbert will be staying with us for a month on Grade 5/6 while Mrs Rime enjoys LSL.
Next Friday 31st March we have our Term 1 Whole School Assembly where children will share the amazing learning that has taken place this term It will start at 1:45 pm and all families are most welcome to attend.
Last week some student volunteers began a project with the MEC clearing invasive weeds. We are preparing some areas near the school for restoration projects that are planned for later in the year.
We are looking forward to lots of opportunities for students to learn about ways that we can care for the environment.
Thanks to Riley, Laurie, Freya, Nate, Axton and Braiden for making such a great start.
Thank you to all those that have collected and returned their fundraising boxes.
We still have some uncollected boxes here in the School Office so if anyone would like an extra to sell (or buy to eat) please feel free to pop in and grab one.
GRADE 3-6 ATHLETICS CARNIVAL AND SPSSA CARNIVAL
Last Tuesday 14th March, we had our first carnival for the year, our year 3-6 Athletics Carnival. We sat in our house colours under our Molesworth Gazebos, it was a sea of blue, green and red!
Every student did such a wonderful job at trying their hardest across all events and encouraging their peers. Each student received a certificate of participation to remember the effort they put in on the day.
Thank you very much to our school community and our early childhood classes for coming along to cheer on our students! Thank you to Mr Rogers and our Sport Leaders in assisting setting up of the carnival and Mr Rogers and Mrs Barber and students for assisting in packing up in the afternoon.
From our school carnivals, we have put together a school team to represent Molesworth at the SPSSA Division D inter school athletics carnival on Thursday 30th March 2023. With 48 students in our team, this is our biggest team yet! Some students participating in 1 event and some up to 4 events! We wish every one of these students the very best, we know they will represent Molesworth with pride and try their hardest.
