Thanks to the amazing Miss Gourlay and all the grants she has applied for we have such a lot of fantastic resources for PE. There is always plenty of school equipment for children to use at recess and lunch. Children do not need to bring any equipment from home as this can cause issues in rules of the games. If students have any issues with equipment, please have a chat with Miss Gourlay.
On Tuesday 23rd August, southern schools across Tasmanian participated in the SPSSA Winter Carnival for 2022! There were 5 sports on offer: AFL, AFLW, hockey, netball and tennis! Unfortunately, due to the weather and ground closures, soccer was cancelled.
In the lead up to the Winter Carnival day, Grade 5/6 students had to be nominated for a sport by their schools and attend trials. If successful at the trials, they would make the team for their region and attended training/s at other schools. Our region is made up of a total of 14 schools. 10 of our Molesworth students were chosen to represent our region at netball, AFL and soccer. A very incredible achievement! To those that went to trials and were not selected, we wish you all the best next year!
Our representatives were:
Netball – Myler, Kyeshia, Addiison and Palasa.
AFL – James and Nataniel.
Soccer – Ellis, Laurie, Mitchell.
Netball Report
We went to Creek Road netball centre. It was really cold at the start of the day, but we did a lot of running so were very warm by the end. It was very challenging especially against the white, red and blue teams. We played 5 games throughout the day. We came 6th place! We all got to meet some new friends while we were there. It was nice to play games with people we didn’t know. We all played fairly! It was nerve racking at first but we all had fun!

AFL Report
We played football at Brighton primary School oval and 3 games at Cadbury’s oval. The games were 40 minutes long! We didn’t know anyone else there but by the end of the day we all became friends. It was really fun but very tiring. It was very cold! We got a few taps and a lot of marks!

SCHOOL SATISFACTION SURVEY 2022
Every year the Department of Education conducts School Satisfaction Surveys to find out what your chid(ren)’s school does well and where it may improve.
Your link to the survey was sent out on Monday. All families in this school received the same survey link and no identifying information is collected.
A summary of the survey results will be provided to schools. Responses from individual or small groups will NOT be disclosed to any Department of Education staff.
We would be grateful if you completed our online survey about Molesworth Primary School. Your feedback is very important to help us inform our school planning decision-making.
The survey is now open and closes Friday 23 September 2022 and takes about 5 minutes to complete.
There will be a slight delay with our Grade 6 Leavers Tops due to supplier issues. They will be arriving in Term 4.
NATIONAL HEALTH AND PHYSICAL EDUCATION DAY 2022
Health & Physical Education (HPE) Day is a nationwide initiative that highlights the importance of HPE and its influence on the learning and development of children. Research shows that children’s participation in physical activity leads to better student engagement, improved academic achievement, encourages lifelong participation and better health outcomes in adult life! Whether you’re a parent, caregiver or teacher - everyone has a role to play in helping young people take a step towards leading healthier and happier lives!
This year National HPE Day is on Wednesday 7th September. Next week, our students will be celebrating this day by coming together and engaging in some new sports and activities. We will all have some fun while being active!
School photo day is now on Wednesday 19th October. Please find attached instructions on how to order photos for your children if wish to do so.
