FROM OUR PRINCIPAL MRS LEANNE SMITH
Another very busy 2 weeks here at Molesworth. Most classes have completed their Term 4 MEC excursions where they enjoyed lots of new learning and experiences. The grade 5/6's class are checking in on their reused container plant pots watching the seeds sprout and grow. They have found out that radishes are definitely the quickest to sprout. If you would like to see them they are all hanging on the railings of the hall deck area between the 2 classrooms.
Swimming has been going very well and today there has been a few nervous students as they were doing their clothed swimming assessment. This year is the first year we were able to send Miss Gourlay to participate as a swimming instructor and she has been most impressed with the effort and skills of our students.
Tomorrow we have our Outdoor Classroom Day where all classes will be outside for the morning learning in this beautiful environment. Very happy to see it is not going to be as hot as yesterday but hopefully the rain will stay away. Look out on Seesaw for lots of sharing of the day.
It is great to see the building continuing to take shape as the metal framing is complete and the wooden framing for the walls starts to go up. Last week, in staff meeting, the teachers met and discussed learning environments, about how we can support all styles of learning within these beautiful new classrooms as well as how else to add to the existing spaces. So many great ideas from flexible seating to indoor outdoor use to relationships and ownership of the spaces by all. The plumbers have had a rather tricky time connecting the new tanks and the fire tank up to the main system. That all should be complete in the next couple of weeks. When you drive past the fire tank you can see the red marker for how full it currently is, it takes a long time to pump all the water into the huge tank.
Reminders:
Prep-Year 2 Athletics Carnival: The Prep to Year 2 students have been preparing for the carnival in PE sessions and using the lanes marked on the oval at recess and lunch. If you have not yet sent in your name and are intending to come along to watch the carnival please let the office know before the day (26th November).
Lisa Ford – Child Psychologist Session: Wednesday 18th November – 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at school. Please call the School Office to register your attendance.
I cannot recommend Lisa highly enough, no matter the age of your children you will leave this session with a greater sense of how to support their growth around the concepts of resilience and child empowerment. Contact the office to reserve a seat.
School Association Meeting: At our last School Association, we met with Mr Felmingham in the MEC to look at ways to support the amazing programs run through the centre. The department have produced a fantastic 1 minute video about our centre which highlights the importance of these programs. Take a minute to view the video as it shows just how great it is. Follow this link https://youtu.be/1e9CVwmCFGE
Our next meeting is on Tuesday 17th November at 4:15 pm as always, all interested parents are more than welcome to attend.

YEAR 1-2 CLASS EXCURSION WITH MEC
Last Friday Year 1-2 enjoyed an exciting MEC Excursion where we collected natrual materials to create "creepy crawly" art in the bush. We also enjoyed damper and a play in beautiful Possum's Playground.
We had a fabulous day at the pond with Mr Felmingham and Trish finding many different and unusual invertebrates. Here are some of the children’s highlights.
Chelsea: I caught an egg nibbling on the jelly.
Lacie: We found invertebrates like tadpoles.
Nick: I enjoyed seeing what we could catch in the net.
Olive: We didn’t fall through the gaps on the bridge.
Archie: Nick, Kobi and I caught a tadpole hatching.
Henry: I like the boatmen.
Emillia; I liked it when we caught tadpoles.
Macy: I liked walking.
Harry: We caught 2 tadpoles.
Grace: Divinia, Kailee and I caught a water spider.
Esther: My favourite part was finding a water snail in our bucket.
Silas: My favourite part was seeing the back swimmers swimming on their backs. They can’t see where they are going. It’s INCREDIBLE!
