Biodiversity
This program is suitable for all grades and includes the following;
- What is Biodiversity?
- What is the difference between ecosystems and habitats?
- Why is biodiversity important?
- What is unique in Tasmania?
- What threatens our biodiversity?
All programs can be tailored to suit individual needs.
Teachers may choose to do a range of activities, including the following:
- Compare 2 different ecosystems – pond and bushland
- Use treeflips to identify native tress
- Use anneloupes to look for invertebrates
- Make a home for a bettong to protect it from a feral cat
- Do quadrants or transects to look at what lives in the area.
- Look for animal evidence
